Tornado!!!!!

Yesterdays funny...

I got scolded by the Discovery Channel producer for filming them while they were filming a scene for next seasons Storn Chasers show.  I smiled and kept on filming...If they don't want anyone to film them, go shoot on a closed studio set, not in the parking lot of a hotel;-)

Tuesday May 25th

Chasing is a bust today....Who ever would have thought that a vacation day that is 80 degrees without a cloud in the sky would be bad ;-)  Only slight chance of bad weather is to far south for a days drive....Tornado chasing after dark is not very fun or safe.  Today is a tourist day...We're heading to Devils Tower in Wyoming for a day of sight seeing and picture taking.  Yesterday was an incredible day of severe weather watching...The most incredible thing we saw was a horizontal vortex(a tornado on it's side).  We were able to see down the center of it as it rotated...If I am able to process my video and stay somewhere with internet access tonight, I will upload it.  Keep your fingers crossed that we will loose these "beautiful" days and get back to some severe weather.   

On the road again..

The film crew just finished up filming the morning meeting and we're heading back up to the South Dakota, North Dakota border for what looks to be a pretty major severe outbreak later on this afternoon.  Working with the Discovery Channel film guys can be a pain...We got gas in the Dominator and they had to get the manager to sign a release for using his station in a scene.  Then, everybody and their brother swarmed the station trying to get a picture of the team....We made our escape and are chasing again.  I will be ditching my van and riding in the Dominator at some point today:-)
